Our valuation service is led by Seth Solomons BSc (Hons) CPAA MIRV and Charlotte Rose BSc (Hons) CPAA AJP.

We provide professional valuations for a variety of purposes, including insurance replacement, probate, family division, private sale, and loan security. In cases of loss or theft where no recent valuation is available, a Post Loss Assessment can be prepared for insurance submission. We also offer Expert Witness Reports for litigation and dispute resolution.

Most UK insurance providers now require valuations from qualified professionals. An inaccurate or outdated valuation can affect your ability to claim, so we recommend updating your insurance valuations every 3 - 4 years to reflect market changes.

Valuations
Jewellery insurance valuations are among the most common types of reports we produce. These valuations represent the current replacement cost in the unfortunate event of loss, theft or damage.

At Furlong Auction House, we pride ourselves on offering a personal, discreet and highly experienced service. Whether you're looking to value to an antique heirloom, a vintage piece, or a rare timepiece, or expert Institute Registered Valuers will provide accurate, detailed assessments.

Each valuation includes a comprehensive report with full descriptions and high-quality images of your items. Appointments can be made at our London office, alternatively, we offer home visits for more extensive valuations.

Keeping your valuations up to date is essential. Market fluctuations and rising material costs mean an outdated valuation could leave you underinsured. In the event of a claim, this could result in a significant shortfall in compensation.

As members of the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) Institute of Registered Valuers (IRV), our reports are fully recognised and accepted by all major insurance companies and brokers.

At Furlong Auction House we offer specialist probate jewellery valuations to support accurate estate administration and ensure full legal compliance.

Our detailed reports are carefully compiled to establish the fair market value of jewellery and related items, in accordance with Section 160 of the Inheritance Tax Act 1984. This means each item is valued as of the date of death, reflecting the price it would reasonably achieve in an open, unbiased market.

Accurately determining this value is essential for calculating inheritance tax and ensuring the estate is managed in line with HMRC guidelines. Our valuations provide executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries with clear, reliable information to aid in smooth estate settlement and informed decision making.
